CRT Convention June 2024
Waco, Texas Members of the Burleson-Milam II Chapter, Children of the Republic of Texas attended the CRT Convention in Waco, Texas. Chapter members took a field trip to the Texas Ranger Museum and attended the Chili Dog Supper. The chapter received the Four Star Award and first place in the scrapbook contest.

Officer General Projects Members of the Burleson-Milam II Chapter of the Children of the Republic of Texas participated in several President General projects for the CRT this year. They are planning on attending the CRT Convention where they will receive the Four-Star Award.

Center, Texas Members of the Burleson-Milam II Chapter, Children of the Republic of Texas attended the CRT Convention in Center, Texas. Chapter members took a field trip to the Republic of Texas Boundary Marker, toured the historic courthouse, played games, watched a flag retirement ceremony and did some country dancing. Our Chapter President served as CRT Page to the CRT President General. The chapter received the Four Star Award, and the chapter received the Haltom Trophy for our chapter project: How to Create and Grow A CRT Chapter!

Burleson-Milam II Chapter Project The Burleson-Milam II Chapter project this year was to hold combined DRT/CRT Meetings on "How to Create and Grow a CRT Chapter." Two Zoom presentations were held and the slideshow presentation was submitted for placement on the DRT members website. The chapter is hopeful that this information will inspire other DRT chapters to create their own CRT chapters and to encourage existing chapters to be revitalized and more active.

Our Chapter Secretary served on the CRT BOM as Parliamentarian General. The chapter received the Four Star Award and Second Place for their chapter scrapbook! The chapter received the Haltom Trophy for our chapter project of growing bluebonnets and Indian paintbrushes from seed!

Burleson-Milam II Chapter Project The Burleson-Milam II Chapter project this year was to grow Texas Bluebonnets and Indian Paintbrushes from seed and to learn about their growth cycles. Some of the plants were placed in a local cemetery and used for a DRT Memorial Medallion Ceremony. An informational pamphlet was created to hand out with seed packets at the DRT and CRT Conventions.
